Class on 9/18

Today in class Mr. Schick asked us if it was okay if he graded tests, and got himself out of the hole he was in. He said that he had a lot of grading to do and not enough of time. He was 'mobbed' with papers. So, he gave us a free period to do our homework and get work done. This was also really helpful to him, because he still had 60 essays to grade. He said we could go and get all the work that we needed to do. Kelsie and I ran to Mrs. Pliess' room and got a math book to work on our homework that we had in that class. Then I went to Kelsie's locker with her to get her calculator charger because mine was dead. After the quick stop at Kelsie's locker, then mine we returned to the room. We started off focused and getting our work done. Then Kelsie took my computer and started to 'study' the Our Father in Spanish. We both already finished math and nothing else left to do. That's when we started using the photo booth and taking pictures of ourselves! What else was there left to do? This was by far my favorite Honors Human Geography class!

In class today we finished up with the rest of the world leaders and their background stories. First, we finished Syria. We learned that Bashar al-Assad does not like his own people and he has ordered a plethora of crackdowns and military sieges on protestors. What started this for him was that his brother was killed in a car crash, and Bashar's brother was supposed to take their father's reign not Bashar. Next we went more in depth with Canada and their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They have a federal parliamentary democracy, and constitutional monarchy. World Leaders information

Today in class we went into greater detail about all the world leaders that we had to research and create a powerpoint about. Mr. Schick was presenting his powerpoint, which had more information than ours did. His went into greater detail about the leader and their back story. First we started with Mexico. Their leader is President Enrique Pena Nieto, and they have a federal presidential republic. His approval ratings are very low and he is suspected to have killed his wife, but gets away with it. Next was China. Their leader is Xi Jinping, and they have a communist type of government. He is married to a folk singer, and he is the son of the founding fathers of the Communist party. Today in class, Val took her test, so of course for the rest of us its notes day...Yay my favorite, sike...Anyways, I only got through the first section but that is still 2 and a half pages of notes for me!
