More and more projects

Today in class, we continued to present our projects. First, Val, Faith, Maddie and Elli's group presented. The two countries that they compared is Qatar and Haiti. They had many troubles with starting their project, as in getting Mr. Schick able to access it. I learned from their project that Haiti is a developing nation so they have a very high birth rate. Qatar has a really weird population pyramid because the male population goes up as the years increase because they work in the oil rig. This is a manly job, and most of the men work here, and die working at this job. This then decreases the male population due to the high death rate of this. Then, Kelsie and I went. I think that we did a really good job presenting our project. We knew a lot of information about our project because we put a lot of time and effort into it, with a lot of research.

In class today we finished up with the rest of the world leaders and their background stories. First, we finished Syria. We learned that Bashar al-Assad does not like his own people and he has ordered a plethora of crackdowns and military sieges on protestors. What started this for him was that his brother was killed in a car crash, and Bashar's brother was supposed to take their father's reign not Bashar. Next we went more in depth with Canada and their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They have a federal parliamentary democracy, and constitutional monarchy. World Leaders information

Today in class we went into greater detail about all the world leaders that we had to research and create a powerpoint about. Mr. Schick was presenting his powerpoint, which had more information than ours did. His went into greater detail about the leader and their back story. First we started with Mexico. Their leader is President Enrique Pena Nieto, and they have a federal presidential republic. His approval ratings are very low and he is suspected to have killed his wife, but gets away with it. Next was China. Their leader is Xi Jinping, and they have a communist type of government. He is married to a folk singer, and he is the son of the founding fathers of the Communist party. Today in class, Val took her test, so of course for the rest of us its notes day...Yay my favorite, sike...Anyways, I only got through the first section but that is still 2 and a half pages of notes for me!
