Quiz and Project

Today in class we all complained. Currently everyone in the class has a C or lower, which is just amazing. Very surprisingly, Mr. Schick gave us the quiz again. I have to say that was petty nice of him, because I have a good memory with the order of things, and letters. I think I got a 100% on that quiz which would be amazing, and help my grade. Then, we moved onto our projects that we worked on last night and in class yesterday. Jamie, Giovanna, Sophie and Sydney's group went first. They did a very good job. And we even got to the points on the project to double. So now its out of fifty points. They got a well deserved one hundred percent. Then Vlad's group went next. They compared Qatar, and Chad. I learned that Qatar doesn't even follow any of the shapes for the population pyramids. They have a very large number of males in their mid-twenties until their mid-forties. These pyramids were very different from each other so it was good to make comparisons from. They also had a really good project, that you could tell they put a lot of time and effort into.

In class today we finished up with the rest of the world leaders and their background stories. First, we finished Syria. We learned that Bashar al-Assad does not like his own people and he has ordered a plethora of crackdowns and military sieges on protestors. What started this for him was that his brother was killed in a car crash, and Bashar's brother was supposed to take their father's reign not Bashar. Next we went more in depth with Canada and their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They have a federal parliamentary democracy, and constitutional monarchy. World Leaders information

Today in class we went into greater detail about all the world leaders that we had to research and create a powerpoint about. Mr. Schick was presenting his powerpoint, which had more information than ours did. His went into greater detail about the leader and their back story. First we started with Mexico. Their leader is President Enrique Pena Nieto, and they have a federal presidential republic. His approval ratings are very low and he is suspected to have killed his wife, but gets away with it. Next was China. Their leader is Xi Jinping, and they have a communist type of government. He is married to a folk singer, and he is the son of the founding fathers of the Communist party.
