Maddy's Western Civ 2018

                  My interpretation of "A Message from Garcia," by Elbert Hubbard is showing that how workers are the same as workers today. They only do their tasks unless threatened, or they put it off until the last possible minute. This story takes place when the Spain had control of Cuba. At this time McKinley was the President and needed a message to safety and secretly get to Garcia, who at the time was in Cuba. The Americans were revolutionaries and so was Garcia, but know one knew. McKinley asked Rowan to get the message safely to Garcia without anyone knowing his reason for coming to Cuba. Rowan, without a second thought did what he was told knowing the risk and difficulties that he would have to go through. Rowan then easily completed his mission with his determination, and having his own inspiration. He had his own motivation to do this for his boss and it shows his loyalty to his job and others. Today in class, Vlad had many troubles trying to send his blog to Mr. Schick. It is the end of class now and he still hasn't been able to send it. Vlad has been working on it the whole class, while the rest of us were going over the syllabus. While listening to Mr. Schick go over the syllabus I was taking notes on what I learned. First, I found out that this course, Honors Human Geography is only a semester long, and then we transfer to Honors western Civilization. When we have tests, they are going to be 100 points, and quizzes are going to be 50 points, and very rarely we will have pop quizzes. Also once in a while we will have group projects where you get to pick who you want to work with. Mr. Schick does not believe in extra credit because its saying you didn't work the whole year and then at the end all the sudden you want to do work. Also, we are not allowed to have our phones on us in class, we need to put them in the bin at the beginning of class. Going off of the idea

Today is my first day of high school. My first mod I had Honors Human Geography with Mr. Schick, who is also my advisor. I had a lot of trouble setting this up and sending the link correctly. Next, I had English, with Mrs. Zurkowski. That class was very fun, and it felt like it went very fast. We have a fun class with good people in it. After that I went to advisory and I was already hungry. Everyone is really quiet and I'm looking forward to lunch. Next I went to Honors Biology which is a good class that I think I'm going to really like! We went over the procedures and safety rules the whole time and I figured out that I have a quiz in that class tomorrow. Finally, once Honors Biology was done I was able to go lunch, which I was very fond of. Then I went to math and we already have a lot of homework, but I really like my teacher so its okay, and math is my favorite subject.
