Today in class we watched a video that went over population pyramids. First, it started off saying that the Russia is the country that has the most amount of land, but Nigeria has a much larger population than Russia. We came to the conclusion that Nigeria is a developing nation because they have such high birth rates compared to Russia, which is a developed nation. Also, the video said that this statistic won't last for long because over a couple years Nigeria will have a steady birth rate and their population will not be as high. This happens because no country is just developed right away. It goes through different stages. Just like in the industrial field. There is a preindustrial stage, a industrial stage, and a postindustrial stage. Then once you go through all three stages then you are an industrialized nation or country. The United States is a great example of an industrialized nation.

In class today we finished up with the rest of the world leaders and their background stories. First, we finished Syria. We learned that Bashar al-Assad does not like his own people and he has ordered a plethora of crackdowns and military sieges on protestors. What started this for him was that his brother was killed in a car crash, and Bashar's brother was supposed to take their father's reign not Bashar. World Leaders information

Today in class we went into greater detail about all the world leaders that we had to research and create a powerpoint about. Mr. Schick was presenting his powerpoint, which had more information than ours did. His went into greater detail about the leader and their back story. First we started with Mexico. Their leader is President Enrique Pena Nieto, and they have a federal presidential republic. His approval ratings are very low and he is suspected to have killed his wife, but gets away with it. Next was China. Their leader is Xi Jinping, and they have a communist type of government. He is married to a folk singer, and he is the son of the founding fathers of the Communist party.
